FOR THE ATTENTION OF: GWENDOLINE SULLIVAN.
Dear Miss Sullivan
Please advise us as to the costs and completion of the following legal work.
On page 7-8 of his report 30th January 1984 ('In the Matter of Frederick Andrews - 1978 No. 516.) the Official solicitor refers to two draft leases sent to you by Mr Herbert Wright of Tughan & Co on 20th January 1976.
These two documents refer to Smithfield properties leased by Andrews & Co from my brother Frederick Andrews Junior.
(A) Will you please furnish us with copies of these leases - or copies of the drafts? If you are unwilling or unable to do this can you advise us why? Can you advise us where such copies may be obtained or under what authority?
In July 1974 Charles Gilpin, in compliance with Herbert Wright, wrote to yourself at Messrs James Boston & Sullivan who represented Andrews & Co (then Billy Andrews et al). The company were informed by Wright that Freddie Andrews was prepared to accept £35,000 for his two Smithfield Square properties. Herbert Wright forwarded two contracts for the 'sale' and a request for a £5,000 deposit. After consultation with Billy Andrews, you returned the signed contracts and the £5,000 deposit on 15th August 1974. You then wrote repeatedly over the next six months to discover what had happened to the 'sale': on 1st November 1974, 20th December 1974, 21st January 1975, 28th February 1975. You received no replies from Tughan & Co or Herbert Wright. On the 29th August 1975 Herbert Wright finally wrote to you to inform you that the sales had been cancelled and would not proceed.
(B) Please will you furnish us with copies of the above correspondence - Tughan & Co's and your replies? If you are unwilling or unable to do this can you advise us why? Can you advise us where such copies may be obtained or under what authority?
Many thanks for your cooperation in these matters.
Mrs Eileen Wright.
