Undated letter from PSNI Detective Superintendent Derek McLoughlin to me.

Dear Mrs Wright,

I refer to your letter of 14 July 2002 to the Chief Constable.

I am aware that you have been involved in a lengthy correspondence with the Police Service of Northern Ireland in relation to you [Should read your] brothers case. I have reviewed all material held by the police, and have been in touch with the Official Solicitors Office.

Whilst you refer to previous decisions not to further investigate unless new evidence comes to light, it nevertheless remains the situation that all evidence in police possession was placed before the director of Public Prosecutions, and the prosecution of Herbert Wright followed.

Unless there is information or evidence, which has not previously been considered, then the police position must remain unchanged from that outlined in previous replies.

Yours sincerely

Derek McLoughlin.

[The Police never dealt with the evidence found by the Fraud Squad officers. Herbert Wright was prosecuted in the interests of the Ryland Vehicle Group. He was never prosecuted in the interest of my mentally handicapped brother Freddie. The Police, the legal profession and the Office of Care and Protection operate a closed shop in Freddie's case.]
